The Model Breakdown
Once you've nailed down the Hull Profile that fits your local rivers and specific fishing program, the next step is to determine which model brings your dream boat to life.
We have been busy over the past few years developing new offerings and configurations (and fishing) and before we knew it we've developed some new boat models and configurations without a formal introduction and overview. We've also learned that our current models cause some confusion amongst owners, guides, and damn near everyone so we've developed a clearer strategy to hopefully make the boats as unique as their name.

The Confluence Model
The Confluence Model (F.K.A. Hybrid): Traditional Soul, Modern Utility
The Confluence model represents the perfect meeting point between the classic craftsmanship of our Legacy line and the modern demand for open-floor utility with the ability to add a rod tray. It is designed for the angler who loves the look and feel of a traditional wood-ribbed dory but requires the freedom of movement and added functionality of a rod tray system found in modern walkthrough designs.
Construction & Materials
The Confluence shares its DNA with our Legacy model, utilizing a White Ash wood skeleton and traditional construction techniques to maintain a "classic" soul. However, it introduces a strategic "confluence" of materials by replacing the forward wooden rib with structural aluminum bracing. This engineering shift allows us to:
- Open the Bow: By removing the bulky front bench, we create a spacious walkaround front angler fishing zone making it easy to swap with your buddy once you're into fish.
- Maintain Structural Integrity: The aluminum bracing provides the necessary width-wise support while sitting flush with the floor for a clean and functional layout.
- Retain the Wood Aesthetic: You still enjoy the beauty of hand-selected White Ash throughout the rest of the boat.
- Added Rod Tray Functionality: The open bow grants us the ability to equip the Confluence with substantial flat space and a safe haven for your fly fishing outfits with the ability to hold up to an 11 foot rod.
Why Choose the Confluence?
The Confluence is for the angler who wants an open layout while maintaining ample dry storage space, the ability to access cold beverages at arms reach, and the added utility of a rod tray with plenty of flat working space and functional "junk drawer" storage under the tray and in the 70/30 dry storage bench.
The Legacy Overview - Highlights & Details
-
Innovative Construction
The Confluence is a masterclass in blending tradition with technology. By integrating high-strength structural aluminum bracing into our classic White Ash wooden skeleton, we’ve created a boat that preserves the "old-school" aesthetic of a wooden dory while providing the "new-school" open-floor utility usually only found in modern metal rigs.
-
Open Configuration
The hallmark of this model is the removal of the traditional #3 wooden rib, replaced by a flush-mounted aluminum brace. This transforms the front of the boat into a seamless walkthrough, allowing the angler and oarsman to move effortlessly from the bow to the cockpit without the "hurdle" of a structural bench.
-
Rod Tray Integration
Because we’ve cleared the forward bench area, the Confluence offers the unique ability to install level, flush-mounted rod trays. These trays provide a secure, snag-free home for fully rigged fly rods and create a massive amount of flat, horizontal "real estate" for rigging flies, staging gear, or setting down a morning coffee.
-
Dry Storage & Real Estate
The Confluence strikes a rare balance: it provides the airy, spacious feel of an open walkthrough while still preserving the critical dry storage you rely on. By utilizing independent dry boxes or coolers as seating rather than fixed benches, you gain a massive amount of floor space without sacrificing a single cubic inch of water-tight protection for your gear and lunch.
-
Added Organization
Taking advantage of the specialized rod tray configuration, the Confluence allows for the addition of an integrated "junk drawer." This provides a dedicated, easy-access home for the small essentials that usually clutter a boat—nippers, floatant, tippet, and tools—keeping your casting deck clean and your most-used gear at your fingertips.
-
Timeless Design - New Age Upgrades
The Legacy-inspired Confluence model honors the timeless design of the original wooden dory while integrating new-age upgrades like high-strength structural aluminum bracing for a modern, open-floor layout. This evolution offers the classic "soul" of a hand-crafted White Ash frame alongside the contemporary utility of flush-mounted rod trays and snag-free walkthrough mobility.
Hull Profiles Available in The Confluence Model
-
High Side Dory
Build Your ConfluenceThe High Side Confluence is the ultimate compromise for the angler who desires the traditional elegance and craftsmanship of the Legacy model but requires enhanced open space and utility in the bow. This model maintains the deep-riding High Side hull and the classic construction of White Ash wood structural components (bow stem, transom, and ribs), ensuring a strong, quiet, and naturally buoyant drift. The key innovation is the use of structural aluminum bracing in the bow, replacing the forward wooden rib to create a walkaround space for the front angler. This open bow layout, coupled with the option for built-in, flush-mounted rod trays, delivers superior rigging space and easy movement, making the Confluence a perfect blend of old-world aesthetic and modern functional design.
-
Low Side Dory
Build Your ConfluenceThe Low Side Confluence is engineered for the discerning drift boat enthusiast who appreciates the low-profile hull for casting ease and demands a more open, functional bow space. Built upon the foundation of the Legacy model, it features the same hand-selected White Ash wood structural components throughout most of the boat, ensuring a classic look and feel. The hybrid advantage comes from replacing the #3 wooden rib with a structural aluminum brace, which opens the forward angler seating area into a flexible walk-around space. This allows for effortless movement and also enables the integration of flush, level rod trays for secure rod storage and invaluable flat rigging space. The Low Side Confluence is the ideal "hybrid," delivering traditional craftsmanship and superior casting performance with enhanced utility.
-
River Skiff
Build Your ConfluenceThe River Skiff Confluence marries the predictable, shallow-drafting performance of the Skiff hull with a modern, open bow configuration, giving oarsmen and anglers maximum utility chasing fish. Its construction is primarily based on the Legacy model, featuring the traditional White Ash wood structure that provides exceptional strength and classic aesthetics. The hybrid element is the use of structural aluminum bracing up front, which replaces the forward rib and creates a clean, walkaround floor space for the front angler. This open layout allows for seamless transitions and the integration of flat, flush rod trays, maximizing both fly rod protection and rigging space. The River Skiff Confluence is perfect combination of ample dry storage and functional open real estate in the fleet to feature a utility-focused layout.
